IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN - AYS Youth Retreat! This year's retreat will be held at Sandy Cove in Northeast, Maryland, Friday, August 24 thru Sunday, August 26. AYS will leave the church @ 9:00 am on August 24 and return @ 6:00 pm on Sunday. The cost is $150 per child, which includes transportation, lodging, and five meals. The first ten people to register will receive $25 off the cost of the trip. Make your reservation today! Please give all monies to the treasure, Mr. Danley, and mark your tithe envelope "AYS Youth Retreat" no later than July 28. Hurry, space is limited. AUGUST is Elder's Prayer Meeting Month. The speakers are: - Charles Brown - Aug. 1 "Fresh Fire" ; Lamont Bailey - Aug 8 ; David Chandler - Aug 15 ; John F. Jackson - Aug 22 ; Fred Craig - Aug 29.

DUPONT PARK SCHOOL'S REGISTRATION - will be held August 14, 15 & 16 from 12:00 noon until 7:00 pm, at the Alabama Avenue campus. The first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 22nd.

NEW PARENT ORIENTATION - for the elementary school parents (Pre K - 5th) will be Tuesday, August 21, @ 6:30 pm @ the Alabama Avenue campus in the multipurpose room. Upper division (6th -10th) Parent Orientation will be Tuesday, August 21, @ 7:00 pm @ the Alabama Avenue campus in the multipurpose room.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS NEEDED - The school administration is trying to create a pool of people who wold be interested in substituting, from time to time, at the elementary and upper division. Congratulations! - One of our teens through the guidance of the Holy Spirit has accomplished much during this summer. Simona Nappier has been certified in these areas: Red Cross, Life Guard, CPR and Dirst Aid. Also, she passed the DC Road Test. The proud parent is Loretta Nappier.

A Meeting for All Pathfinders - attending the "Friends in Christ Camporee," will be held tomorrow, @ 10:00 a.m., in the Bible classroom. This meeting is mandatory for all Pathfinders and guardians.

Communications Corner - Members who were baptized between May 19 and June 23, 2007 will have their pictures taken in front of the church, on a Sabbath that will be announced later.

For example, Trevon Christopher graduated in June from Largo High School in Prince George's County, Maryland. Later this month, he will attend North Carolina A&T State University.
